Luke Bonner joined the city of Sterling Heights in January 2006 as the
Economic Development Manager to advance the city’s renewed efforts
toward business retention, recruitment and revitalization. He has
nearly six years of economic development experience with the
City of Taylor, Michigan that includes, in part, the management of
several projects for the Tax Increment Finance Authority, the Downtown
Development Authority, and in Brownfield redevelopment.
Luke holds a master’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in
Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. He is a
Certified Economic Developer through the Michigan Economic Developments
Association, a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional
through the National Development Council and a licensed real estate
agent through Colliers International. Bonner is
currently pursuing economic development certification from the
International Development Council.
