Community Foundation presents 19 scholarships The Sterling Heights Community Foundation and several partner organizations presented scholarships totaling $16,500 to 19 students during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

Corridor Improvement Authority business loans launched Business owners located within the city’s new Corridor Improvement Authority district on Van Dyke north of 18 1/2 Mile are invited to apply for a special low interest loan and reimbursement program intended for exterior building improvements.

Voter-approved renovations to fire stations begin The City Council broke ground Tuesday, May 6 on voter-approved renovations to Fire Stations 2, 3 and 4.

Council adopts 2008/09 budget The Sterling Heights City Council recently adopted a 2008/09 city budget that maintains the city’s low tax rate while also funding many improvements, including neighborhood street repairs, enhancements to the North Van Dyke Corridor, additional police officers on the street, replacement of police and snow removal vehicles, and additional fire equipment.
