Cone Zone road improvements announced Several city, county and state road improvement projects are scheduled for this spring and summer in Sterling Heights as part of the city’s “Cone Zone” construction program.

Second recycling telephone survey not conducted by City of Sterling Heights A recent telephone survey asking Sterling Heights residents about curbside recycling is NOT being conducted by the City of Sterling Heights.

Applications available for Memorial Day Parade and Sterlingfest Applications are available at City Hall and on the city’s Web site for the 2010 Memorial Day Parade in May and the Sterlingfest Art & Music Fair in August.

Get fit for summer Spring is here and shorts and bathing suit season are closer than you think!  Let the Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department fitness classes help get you ready.  We are currently taking registrations for the Total Body Conditioning, Turbo Sculpt and Yoga classes.  Classes are held at the Recreation Center on different days and times

Learn to Line Dance The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation department is accepting registrations for Beginner Line Dance classes.  Come learn to line dance and make some great new friends while enjoying a great low impact aerobic activity.  Beginner and advanced classes are available.  These classes are for adults.

Foundation scholarship applications due March 19 High school and college students have until Friday, March 19 to apply for one of several scholarships being offered through the Sterling Heights Community Foundation and several partner organizations.

There's fun for the little ones through Parks & Rec Are you looking to get your child involved with an exciting and fun yet educational program that you can attend too?  The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registrations for its Parent and Tot classes.  We are offering a variety of fun filled classes packed with activities for tots and their parent beginning the week of March 23.  Classes are available for children ages 12 months to 4 years on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at the Recreation Center in Dodge Park.  The majority of the classes are a bargain at $ 5.50 per class for 8 weeks of fun for a total of $44. Non-resident fees are $66.

Chrysler Group LLC buys Sterling Heights Assembly Plant City officials are commending Chrysler Group LLC’s decision to purchase the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP), a move that will preserve 1,200 jobs and $2.6 million in vital tax revenue to Sterling Heights.
