Adaptive Recreation

Adaptive Recreation offers programs and activities designed to meet the neurodiversity needs of individuals who have developmental delays, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, or autism. All our programs through Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department are inclusive and we welcome anyone to enjoy all that is offered!

The sports and activities you find within the Adaptive Recreation program are specialized to meet the community integration, social, and recreation needs of residents and non-residents who are looking for non-inclusive opportunities.

The Adaptive Recreation program is coordinated by a certified therapeutic recreation specialist who understands the medical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of those looking for community integration opportunities.
