  • Carpathia Park: The athletic courts remain under construction and will be completed in early Spring 2021.

COVID-19 Park Updates

Are the Sterling Heights Parks still open? 

Yes, all parks, trails, and playgrounds throughout the City are open. Per the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, maintaining a social distance of at least six feet is still required and face masks are required when social distancing cannot be achieved. 

Beginning Nov. 16, the City has closed the following park amenities:

  • Basketball court in Dodge Park and Farmstead Park
  • Soccer field in Dodge Park and Farmstead Park
  • Skate Park

The trails and open green space are available for use, below is a list of activities allowed in the parks:

  • Running/Jogging
  • Walking
  • Biking (non-motorized)
  • Rollerblading
  • Kayaking or Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Personal Fitness
  • Playgrounds

The following uses are not permitted at this time and the amenities are closed:

  • Skate Park
  • Soccer Fields
  • Basketball Courts
  • Inline Hockey Rinks
  • Sand Volleyball Courts
  • Tennis Courts
  • Pickleball Courts
  • Use of Motorized Vehicles (ATVs, Dirt Bikes, Quads, Golf Carts, Snowmobiles, etc)

We encourage you to continue practicing proper hand washing, or use hand sanitizer when hand washing is not available. We will continue to implement and educate park visitors on protocols that ensure the safety of our community.

Are the park restrooms open? 

The following park restrooms are open: 

  • Dodge Park - main restrooms
  • Dog Park
