Winter Reading Challenge

Read for a better world

From January 1 to January 31, 2022, the Sterling Heights Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge you to read 600 minutes during the month and keep track of your reading on our Beanstack site at You can also track your progress on the Beanstack app. A household can track multiple readers under one account.

The theme will focus on exploring diversity and empathy through reading. For more information on the theme, "Read for a Better World," read on, here.

Who Can Participate

All ages can participate. For those who do not read, they can be read to by a parent, guardian, or sibling. It is tracked exclusively online, but if you want to participate in-person, come into the library and a librarian will log your progress.
