Winter Reading Challenge

Read for a better world

From January 1 to January 31, 2022, the Sterling Heights Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge you to read 600 minutes during the month and keep track of your reading on our Beanstack site at sterling-heights.beanstack.org. You can also track your progress on the Beanstack app. A household can track multiple readers under one account.

The theme will focus on exploring diversity and empathy through reading. For more information on the theme, "Read for a Better World," read on, here.

Who Can Participate

All ages can participate. For those who do not read, they can be read to by a parent, guardian, or sibling. It is tracked exclusively online, but if you want to participate in-person, come into the library and a librarian will log your progress.

PrizesWater bottle and tote bag

Those who register will get a bookmark. Complete the "Read for a Better World" activity (accessible online through the app or website) for a button. Complete all 600 minutes, and you can take home your choice of a water bottle or tote bag.
