Go Green Grants

Grant funding is currently not available. Please check back for future opportunities or view the Level Three – low-interest - incentive below!

The Go Green Grants Program has successfully provided Sterling Heights residents access to clean energy through funding more than 150 energy-efficient home improvements!

The City of Sterling Heights in partnership with Michigan Saves invested $1 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in the homes of Sterling Heights residents, saving energy and money on utility bills, while improving the health, safety, and comfort of your home. The invested ARPA funds were granted to residents within the first 10 days of program launch, but the City hopes to secure funding to continue to support energy-efficient home improvements.

While grant funding is currently not available, we encourage you to explore the low-interest, unsecured loan from Michigan Saves. The Michigan Saves loan application is available to any homeowner in Sterling Heights.

At this level, residents are eligible for an incentive equal to 20 percent of their eligible project cost, with the total incentive not to exceed $5,000. This level is also available for single family rental or income properties, provided that rental property is within city limits and that the property owner also lives within the city limits.
