Sterling Heights Minibus Service

A free minibus service is available for Sterling Heights residents age 55+ and for residents with disabilities. Service is curb to curb. Riders must be able to get to and from, and on and off the minibus unassisted or have a companion travel with them for assistance. Those requiring a bus with a wheelchair lift must specify when making an appointment.

Weekly Schedule


Grocery Shopping - Meijer - 16 Mile and Van Dyke
Where you live determines what time you are picked up. The first group is picked up starting at 8:30 a.m. and the second group is picked up starting at approximately 10 a.m. Note: If your grocery bags are too heavy for you, then they are also too heavy for your driver. Please ask bagger to pack lightly.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Minibus available for individual use such as medical and dental appointments, beauty shop and appointments other than shopping. Appointment destinations must be inside the City limits except for medical / dental appointments which are limited to 5 miles beyond City limits. Bus hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Appointments times are approximate and could vary 15 minutes each way. If you have to wait after you have seen the doctor, please be patient as we may be late picking you up.


Mall trips will be made on Thursdays once a month. (Lakeside, Walmart & Target.) Dates will vary. The schedule is listed on the Senior News calendar.

Wednesday / Friday

Minibus service to and from the Senior Center is available.

Work / School

Transportation to a work site or school for seniors or people with physical or cognitive impairments, will be accommodated within our hours of operations, Monday - Friday based on availability.

Please call (586) 446-2757 between the hours of 9 a.m - 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please Note: If your appointment goes beyond our transportation hours of 2:30 p.m., you must make your own arrangements for transportation home. Appointments must be set up in advance. No same day service. Appointment space is limited and taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments may be made up to 2 months in advance.
