Marisa Smith
Series leader, Marisa Smith, is a Professional EOS® Implementer who is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and leadership teams get what they want from their businesses. As an entrepreneur and business owner herself, Marisa found EOS® to be extremely beneficial. She began implementing EOS® in her own company in 2014 and quickly felt relief from the frustrations that had been plaguing her for years. She started speaking to clients and agency colleagues about her firm’s success, and quickly developed a passion for helping other entrepreneur implement EOS® in their own companies. She now devotes all of her time to working with entrepreneurial leaders to clarify, simplify and achieve their visions.

Attending these events will allow you to ask questions, get to know other small business owners, and learn fundamental EOS® principles.

Your Business and EOS®

Entrepreneurs often find themselves running into unexpected challenges within their business. Many work longer hours than expected, receiving less return on their investment of time and money than originally planned. Common frustrations that entrepreneurs experience include:

CONTROL

Is balancing time between business and family life a challenge?

PEOPLE

Are all your people on the same page?

PROFIT

Do you feel you need to grow to stay competitive, but can’t afford it?

HITTING THE CEILING

Is your company revenue stuck at a plateau?

NOTHING’S WRONG

Have you tried strategies from the latest great business books, but nothing seems to stick?

If any of these obstacles are true for you, attending the Sterling Heights’ EOS® webinar series is the first step to overcoming them.

What Local Business Owners Had to Say About the Initial EOS® Program Launch in March:

“Mike Kotsis was a nurturing facilitator who had the unique ability to pull me out of my comfort zone and take a deep look at the issues that were holding my business back from our true potential. I found that the ‘Get a Grip on Your Business’ workshop was an excellent opportunity for DASI Solutions to inspect the core values of our organization and establish measurable action items going forward.”

“Our company has utilized elements of the EOS Operating System in our sales and distribution facilities with great success.  The fundamentals of the program are thoughtful and success can be experienced quickly.”

In 2011, BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P. opened its Center of Excellence on Van Dyke Ave in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This state of the art technical facility represented an approximate $26,000,000 real property investment with a 2014 taxable value of $13,270,800.

BAE Systems is now undertaking an $11,654,875 investment to build a stand-alone 12,800 square foot facility to expand its testing and research capability at the ground vehicle Center of Excellence located at 34201 Van Dyke Ave. In anticipation of an increase in business, and to realize cost savings, a new dynamometer test lab is being constructed.

A dynamometer is a device for measuring force, moment of force (torque), or power. BAE Systems’ addition of a dynamometer will enhance the overall value of the Center for Excellence by increasing its technical capabilities. This is a further investment by a major corporate taxpayer and demonstrates a continuing commitment to the defense industry sector in the Sterling Heights’ economy. BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P.  continues to grow, with nearly 400 employees and counting.

The company is choosing to further invest in its Sterling Heights facilities to enhance technological capabilities and improve efficiencies.  This investment will increase the capability of BAE Systems to compete in the global defense industry.

BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P. is a wholly owned subsidiary of BAE Systems Plc, responsible for the design, development, and production of combat vehicles, ammunition, artillery systems, naval guns, and missile launchers. It was developed in 2005 following the completion of BAE Systems' acquisition of United Defense in 2004 and its merger with BAE Land Systems, and is now the largest such company in the world.

AGS Automotive Systems is an automotive manufacturing company which has over 60 years of experience in the manufacturing of automotive components, specifically related to impact system assemblies, stamping, and complex welded assemblies. All of AGS U.S. manufacturing is located in Sterling Heights.

J2 Management Group is a Canadian holding company that owns two automotive manufacturing companies in the US and Canada which operate under the AG Simpson (AGS) name. What began as a printing equipment repair business in 1947 in Scarborough, Ontario has grown to a manufacturing footprint of more than a million and a half square feet. The company is comprised of six manufacturing locations; three of which are located in Canada, and three of which are located in Michigan.

AGS is a full-service supplier, with capabilities in stamping, plating, coating, welding, sequencing, and assembly. AGS supplies bumper systems and body-in-white structural modules to GM, Chrysler, and several Tier 1 customers. AGS’s breadth of operations is very extensive, and many of its programs are exercised at several locations to provide maximum service and optimal value to customers.

In 2012, the Company was awarded a $900,000 MBDP performance-based grant for the expansion of 90 new jobs in Sterling Heights, Michigan at its 18 1⁄2 Mile facility. AGS successfully closed out this grant agreement, meeting all required milestones, and has exceeded the projected 90 new jobs, bringing the total closer to 300. AGS is leading in best practices in the area of refugee employment.  80% of AGS new employees are Iraqi refugees from the local Sterling Heights area

The Company is competing for a new contract to produce OEM automotive components. To support this new work, AGS plans to construct a 20,000 square foot expansion at its current Sterling Drive South chrome plating facility. This Sterling Heights location is where AGS will house its new equipment lines. The project will result in the development of 50 new jobs and $9,000,000 in capital investment. AGS has accepted a $300,000 performance-based grant from the State of Michigan. City Development and Economic Development have been working on this project with AGS to ensure it can expand the facility in a timely manner to meet contract needs.
