What keeps you up at night? How will you stay competitive? Is your current plan sustainable? These are few of many questions that were asked at the Manufacturers Engage event on May 11, 2017.
Manufacturers Engage is an invitation-only, unconventional, innovative, and engaging event hosted at the Velocity Center in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The event was designed for C-level manufacturers and their HR staff. Following the success and direction of last year’s event, organization dug a little deeper into the subject of talent attraction/retention and training.
The group participated in a vital industry dialogue on Manufacturing Day, tapping into workforce development training funds, career technical education resources, apprenticeship programs, and how brand and culture of the industry impacts talent attraction. The invite-only atmosphere of this event allowed for the right people to be brought together at the right time, resulting in effective decision-making, and great conversation.
Mayor Pro-Tem Barb Ziarko and Executive Mark Hackel gave opening remarks on behalf of the City of Sterling Heights and Macomb County. Following the opening statements, each member of the panel was invited to speak on a topic regarding the industry dialogue.
