Sterling Heights, Warren & Harrison Township to host press conference announcing filing of lawsuits

The City of Sterling Heights, the City of Warren and Harrison Township are hosting a joint press conference at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at the Sterling Heights Police Department.

The City of Sterling Heights, the City of Warren and Harrison Township will discuss each cities' filing of separate but related lawsuits against opioid manufacturers, distributors and prescribers, seeking damages for defendants’ deliberate and unconscionable efforts to maximize profits at the expense of individual citizen’s lives, families and communities. At the press conference Wednesday, the media will hear from leadership from each City. Members of the three communities’ public safety departments will also be present, among other elected officials and community supporters.

Taylor, Harrison Township Supervisor Ken Verkest, Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool, Sterling Heights Police Chief Dale Dwojakowski, Sterling Heights Fire Chief Chris Martin, Members of the Sterling Heights City Council, Families Against Narcotics (FAN) Youth Outreach Coordinator Dave Clayton, members of the Sterling Heights Drug Free Coalition, Sterling Heights City Attorney Marc Kaszubski, Attorney Rob Huth of Kirk, Huth, Lang and Badalamenti PLC, Attorneys David Mindell, Alfred Murray, and Christopher Dore of Chicago-based Edelson PC.
