[ARCHIVED] City of Sterling Heights, SHRCCI partner on COVID-19 business survey; educational video briefings

The city of Sterling Heights and Sterling Heights Regional Chamber are partnering on two important initiatives to understand and assist the business community during the COVID-19 crisis.

The first initiative is distribution of a business survey aimed at identifying the short- and long-term needs of businesses as a result of the current pandemic. The survey is available here. Businesses are asked to complete the survey to provide City and Chamber leadership an opportunity to review and quickly begin to work on creating solutions to the most pressing current business issues.

The second initiative is a series of webcasts scheduled to be released this Wednesday through Friday. These short video briefings, or “Covid-Casts,” will feature area business experts sharing important tips on business matters related to COVID-19. Covid-Casts will be posted on social media for easy sharing. The lineup includes:

  • Available Loan Options for Business - Tom Alongi, UHY
  • Small Business Planning and Risk Management - Marc Kaszubski, O’Reilly Rancilio
  • Business Interruption - Joe Haney, Sterling Insurance Group

“The intent of our Covid-Casts is to provide expert advice on what to do now and what to prepare for over the next 30-90 days,” said Stacy Ziarko, president and CEO for Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to leverage the expertise of our local partners in order to meet the critical needs of our business community.”

“It is vitally important that we help our business community through this crisis, and we understand how important a role they play in providing the goods, services and income that sustains our community,” said Mayor Michael Taylor, “In times like these, one of the most important things we can share with our business community is knowledge and resources. Our goal is to provide our local businesses the short-term support they need to ensure their long-term survival.”
