[ARCHIVED] New WiFi Hotspots

Institute of Museum and Library Services Logo

We want our residents to stay connected throughout the pandemic, so we now have a dozen new WiFi hotspots for you to check out for free! Get filtered access to the internet for seven days with these handy devices.

You can reserve a hotspot by calling 586-446-2665 and pressing 3 for Adult Services or by placing a hold through the library’s online catalog and searching for “SHL HOTSPOT”. Only one hostpot can be checked out at a time, and the user must be at least 18 years old.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Library of Michigan. The library secured funding through a CARES Act grant designed to help local communities deal with the wide-ranging effects of COVID-19. Each new hotspot has been funded until August 2021, but the library hopes to secure additional funding to keep the hotspots in the collection in perpetuity.
