[ARCHIVED] Police Department recruiting for Citizens on Patrol

Ster. Hts. Police are currently accepting applications for the voluntary position of Citizen on Patrol. Responsibilities include patrolling as the eyes and ears of the community, reporting suspicious activity and assisting with security at city events.

Sterling Heights Police are currently accepting applications for the voluntary position of Citizen on Patrol. The position is unpaid. Responsibilities include performing patrols as the eyes and ears of the community, reporting suspicious activity and assisting with security type functions at city events such as the Sterlingfest Art & Music Fair and Concert in the Park series.

To be considered, candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Michigan Drivers License, pass a criminal background check, participate in mandatory entry level training, have an insured motor vehicle and follow directions from SHPD coordinators.
