As part of its “Break-Free Blast” series of events, the city of Sterling Heights and its Ethnic Community Committee will hold the 2021 Cultural Exchange on Friday, June 18, from 6-10 p.m. under the Dodge Park Farmers Market Pavilion.
The event is free and open to the public. Overflow parking will be available at the Senior Center and across the street at the Community Center.
Sponsored by the Sterling Heights Ethnic Community Committee, the 2021 Cultural Exchange will feature a wide array of ethnic music and dance, 35 educational and cultural displays from area groups and organizations, and cuisine from area food trucks. Cultures represented will include African-American, Albanian, Assyrian, Chaldean, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Iraqi, Irish, Islamic, Tamils, Thai and more.
“The evening is really a great chance for people of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds to celebrate their similarities more than their differences,” said Carmen Williams, chairman of the Ethnic Community Committee. “We are looking forward to participation from all the different nationalities in Sterling Heights and surrounding areas.
Food will be available to purchase from Estia Street Greek Food Truck, Jet’s Pizza, Mike’s Kabob Grille and Street Salad Food Truck.
