The fun and excitement surrounding the Sterlingfest Art & Music Fair continues as organizers proudly announce the 9th Annual Sterlingfast 5K.
The family fun run begins at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 29th at Dodge Park, located on the corner of Utica and Dodge Park Roads. Participants will meet in the Farmers Market Pavilion and the course will take runners and walkers north on Utica Road to the city’s Nature Center where participants will cross over the river and return south to Dodge Park via the parks’ scenic bike path.
Community Relations Director Melanie Davis said the race is unique because of the fun and energetic setting. “We’re encouraging people to come for the run and stay for the food and entertainment that begins at 11 a.m. when the Suds n Sounds pavilion opens. Local favorite musical acts are scheduled to perform and a variety of restaurants and food vendors will be on site to feed the crowd.”
The cost of the race is $25 until July 18th. After July 18th, cost is $30 until the day of the race. The cost will be $35 to register the day of the race. Awards will be given for Overall men and women, as well as age group awards (Top 3 in every age group). Medals, post-race snacks and an adult beverage (for those over 21) are also included. Shirts are guaranteed to those registered by July 17th; availability may be limited to anyone registering after July 17th.
