The City of Sterling Heights is set to host its first-ever State of the City address on Sept. 30 in an effort to share achievements, new initiatives, economic updates from 2016 as well as plans for 2017 and beyond.
The State of the City will be co-hosted by the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SHRCCI). event begins at 8 a.m. at the Wyndam Garden Inn, 34911 Van Dyke, with breakfast and networking. The State of the City program begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp and will feature brief presentations from SHRCCI Chamber President Melanie Davis, various top-level City staff and wrap-up with a keynote speech from Sterling Heights Mayor Michael C. Taylor.
“The State of the City address is a new way for the City to reach out to residents and share our successes, challenges and initiatives for the future,” said Mayor Taylor. “We hope residents from all walks of life, as well as members of the business community, will come out to the event to learn more about City happenings.”
The State of the City event is open to all; tickets can be purchased by going to www.shrcci.com and clicking “events” or by calling (586) 731-5400 x 11. Tickets are $18 for an individual, $30 for two people or $120 for a table of eight. The ticket price includes a plated breakfast.
