The twenty-one playgrounds to be made over through the Recreating Recreation millage have been announced: Arlingdale, Avis, Baumgartner, Carpathia, College, Dodge (play structure between the bathrooms and the Recreation Center), Fairfield, Franklin, Hadley, Hampton, Imus, Jaycee, Magnolia, Mark Sawyer, Moravian, Nelson Lower Level, Nelson Upper Level, North Clinton, Rotary, Tom Chappelle and Washington Square Park.

"We are very pleased with the new playground designs and the increased play value that will be achieved at each park is significant. The plans for Nelson Park and LW Baumgartner Park playgrounds will achieve a high level of accessibility for less ambulatory patrons. Our goal is to minimally have a ramped structure in each of the major parks, and this plan will get us 60% there. With these plans, we will now have four ramped structures in our City, geographically spread out, with one more on the way," said Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Langlois. "All of the new play structures will include playground borders to retain safety surfacing, as well as wear mats under swings and slide exits. These additions were previously not included in most city parks, and are a positive enhancement for safety and long-term maintenance. Also new, is that each playground will have a swing set including one swing for children with disabilities."

Playground construction is slated to begin early spring of 2017 and go through fall of 2017.
