The City of Sterling Heights has begun a yearlong community initiative to enhance Brain Health. The Senior Center and the Library will be highlighting programs each month that offer benefits to the brain. Look for this brain builder icon in the City Magazine, Senior Newsletter, and the Library’s Adult Programming Calendar to  to find out which events are part of the Exercise Your Brain initiative.

Participating in our initiative will not only help your brain, it could ease your wallet! By attending any of the library programs, you will earn a raffle ticket for a $25 gift card at a local business. Drawings will be held every two months.

Residents can also improve their mental fitness by using a computer program called BrainHQ. This fun program offers short 2-minute-or-less segments, adapting speed and delivery to your performance. With over 840 levels, BrainHQ training is organized around 6 core cognitive areas of Attention, Brain Speed, Memory, People Skills, Intelligence, and Navigation. To use BrainHQ, all you need is your library card number and PIN to participate. Click here to get started.
