Sterling Heights Police seek suspects in vandalism of homes and cars, release video

Sterling Heights Police are seeking the persons responsible for vandalizing multiple homes and cars in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 9.

Officers responded to the area of Clinton River Road and Schoenherr Road at approximately 3 a.m. July 9 for reports of homes just vandalized.  According to SHPD, residents reported hearing loud noises outside and discovered that suspects had thrown landscaping rocks and other items at their homes. One resident heard a male voice and observed a suspect enter into the passenger side of the vehicle.  The vehicle description is a Jeep Liberty or Compass.  A second witness observed a white male, 18 to 22 years old, wearing dark clothing, run to a dark vehicle and the vehicle sped off.


SHPD reports there were a total of 25 reported vandalism incidents that had occurred.  The incidents occurred in the area of Clinton River Road, Schoenherr Road and Saal Road; as well as in the areas of Dodge Park and from 17 Mile Road down to Metropolitan Parkway.


A resident did capture one suspect on a surveillance system.  In this incident, the suspect runs up to the residence, kicks the front door and a second suspect throws fireworks onto the porch.  Both suspects then leave the area in a vehicle.
