[ARCHIVED] City to host "New Resident Forum" in an effort to better connect, communicate with residents

The City of Sterling Heights will once again host its “New Resident Forum” this month in an effort to better connect and communicate with residents.

The first forum will be held at at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Library Programming Center, 40255 Dodge Park Road.

At the forum, residents will hear from leaders in the City’s Police, Fire, City Development, Finance, Parks & Recreation and Library departments.
“This is an opportunity for the City to make face-to-face contact with residents, present and explain the various City departments and answer any questions they may have. It’s an excellent opportunity for connection,” said Community Relations Director Bridget Kozlowski.

“I hope both new and long-time residents will take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the City and meet with top-level staff and elected officials,” said Mayor Michael C. Taylor. “We want the City of Sterling Heights to be accessible, transparent and as helpful to residents as possible.”

The New Resident Forum is open to the public; those that plan to attend are asked but not required to email RSVP@sterling-heights.net and include their name and address. Light refreshments will be served. Residents with questions about the forum can call Community Relations at (586) 446-2470.

Media looking for more information or to schedule an interview can contact Community Relations Director Bridget Kozlowski at (586) 446-2471 or email bkoz@sterling-heights.net.
