[ARCHIVED] 19th Annual "Cops and Kids" Christmas scheduled for December 9th

The Sterling Heights FOP Lodge 118, in cooperation with the Sterling Heights Police Department and Target of Sterling Heights, is hosting the 19th annual “Cops and Kids” holiday program on December 9th 8:30 am at Target (16 Mile and Dequindre Road).

The Christmas "Cops and Kids" program is designed to assist Sterling Heights area children and their families during the Christmas holidays.  We hope to help between 40 and 50 children get a little something extra for the holidays.  Each child will get to spend approximately $100.00 on toys, clothing or gifts for their families.

Santa and Mrs. Clause will be on hand, along with their helpers, to assist the children.  Santa’s helpers will be uniformed Sterling Heights Police Officers, which will serve as buddies for the day and accompany the children throughout the store.  The officers will assist the children in pushing the shopping carts, picking out the gifts and wrapping them, along with helping the children keep track of the money they have spent.

This program assists in bringing the community and police department closer together along with providing the kids with some extra cheer during the Christmas season.
