[ARCHIVED] Police Partner with DEA for Drug Take-Back Event

On April 28th, 2018 the Sterling Heights Police Department will be working with the Drug Enforcement Agency during the National Drug Take-Back Event.

With the current nationwide opioid epidemic going on, the Sterling Heights Police Department is making every effort to combat this problem.   

In light of all of the overdoses that are occurring in our society, this is one step of many that the Sterling Heights Police Department is doing, to fight the war on drugs.  This event provides an opportunity for people to bring unwanted or left-over medications to be disposed of in a safe manner with no questions asked.  The process is done discreetly by placing the medications in a container that is kept in the lobby of each event location. 

This event has proven to be very successful, as this program has safely disposed of thousands of pounds of unwanted drugs.  This event is being held at three Sterling Heights locations. 

1). The Sterling Heights Police Department main lobby: 

      40333 Dodge Park Rd, Sterling Heights, Michigan

2). St. Michaels Catholic Community:

      40501 Hayes Rd.  Sterling Heights, Michigan

3). Fellowship Chapel:

     12875 E. 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, Michigan

Date of the event is April 28th, 2018 between the hours of 10 am – 2 pm.
