Sterling Heights Police Dept. to honor the retirement of K9 Officer Blitz after 11 years of service

The Sterling Heights Police Department is honoring the retirement of K-9 Officer Blitz on Thursday, April 19.

After 11 impressive and hardworking years serving Sterling Heights, Officer Blitz will hang up his leash and retire from tracking down criminals and removing illegal drugs off the streets.

Chief Dale Dwojakowski will be presenting Blitz with an official pin marking his retirement, that will be added to his collar. There will be dog cake and a human cake as well as a few words from his handler, Officer Darren Steele.

Who: K-9 Officer Blitz, Sterling Heights Police Chief Dale Dwojakowski, Sterling Heights Police Officers, City Manager Mark Vanderpool, Members of the Sterling Heights City Council and other City of Sterling Heights staff

What: To honor K-9 Blitz’s years of service to Sterling Heights

Where: Upstairs Conference Room, Sterling Heights Police Department, 40333 Dodge Park Road
