The Friends of the Sterling Heights Public Library, the stewards of the library’s Used, But Sterling Bookstore, are hosting a week-long celebration of its customers from Monday, May 14 through Sunday, May 20.
Library visitors will receive free snacks, drinks, and coupons throughout the event and can enjoy special deals on bookstore purchases.
“Our bookstore customers support our library in powerful ways”, says Tammy Turgeon, Library Director at the Sterling Heights Public Library. “We receive so much amazing help, so we felt it’s time to give back,” Turgeon adds.
Customer Appreciation Week will feature a special table in the library’s lobby that offers residents free snacks, drinks, and bookstore coupons. The bookstore will also host theme-of-the-day deals. “We wanted to have a little fun, so we’re sponsoring daily events like ‘Mystery Monday’ with additional bargains on mystery items,” said Turgeon.
The Used, But Sterling Bookstore is located inside the Sterling Heights Public Library and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1 to 4 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. On May 20 only, the store will be open Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The bookstore is operated by an all-volunteer outfit directed by the Friends of the Library. Jason Groth, the library’s Public Relations and Programs Coordinator, explains, “All of the proceeds from the bookstore go toward library services. This includes the library’s eBook collection, bestsellers, funding for all of our programs, and more.”
