On April 29th at approximately 12:40 AM, the Sterling Heights Police received a 911 call of shots fired in the area of Acorn Lane, in Sterling Heights.
Upon arrival to the area, Officers were approached by the victim of the armed robbery. The victim had blood on his face and clothing, and apparent injuries from being assaulted.
Upon arriving home from work, and allowing his dog outside to relieve itself, an unknown black male approached and pointed a silver revolver at him. The suspect then ordered the victim back inside of his home. When entering the home, the suspect then struck the victim in the face with the handle of the revolver. The suspect then grabbed a pillow case, and proceeded to steal numerous items from the home, which included jewelry, and the victim’s cell phone. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s car keys, and then proceeded to steal the victims Jeep.
The victim, who is a CPL holder, ran and retrieved his handgun from his closet. The victim exited the home as the suspect was stealing the Jeep. The victim then fired numerous shots at the suspect, striking the vehicle. The Jeep then fled away from the scene in an unknown direction. The Jeep was located and recovered unoccupied, not far from the scene of the incident. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was ever hit by the shots that were fired at him. The suspect has not yet been apprehended. The victim received medical attention on scene for minor injuries.
