[ARCHIVED] Deceased Person located in the Clinton River in Sterling Heights

On 06/30/18 at 4:30 p.m., kayakers paddling down the Clinton River called 911 to report a possible deceased body floating in the water.

The kayakers lost sight of the body as they awaited the arrival of emergency personnel. The Sterling Heights Fire Department along with the Shelby Twp. Fire Department checked the river and were unsuccessful in locating the body at the time. The search was then terminated on 07/01/18. 

On 07/02/18 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a deceased body was located in the Clinton River by a passing Kayaker. The body was located in the water, behind the address of 39488 Utica Rd. The body was recovered and turned over to the Macomb County Medical Examiner for further investigation. Sterling Heights Police Detectives are also investigating the incident. The cause of death is still unknown at this time.  The description of the deceased person matches the description of the person that was in the water on 06/30/18. The body has not been positively identified, nor has the next of kin been notified.
