[ARCHIVED] Snow Emergency Lifted - Jan. 30, 8:20 a.m.

The Snow Emergency has been LIFTED. DPW reports all City streets have been plowed curb to curb as of this morning.

DPW will spend Wednesday and Thursday touching up streets and responding to other duties that have been placed on hold since the Snow Emergency was called Monday evening. DPW would like to thank the residents and businesses for their patience during this weather event and for those who took the time to move their cars off the street to ensure for proper plowing.

For refuse collection today, Wednesday: GFL started routes as a normal. However, GFL plans to closely monitor the weather for the safety of their staff as well as the proper functionality of the their diesel and hydraulic equipment. If refuse collection is halted, GFL will assume their responsibilities the following day — weather pending. Please stay tuned to Sterling Heights communication mediums for any changes or updates.
