Mayor Taylor holds a public office hour at City Hall on Thursdays between 11 a.m. and noon.

Appointments to meet with Mayor Taylor are not necessary. Mr. Taylor will meet with residents in the City Council Office (Room 200) on the upper level of City Hall. For more information, contact the Office of City Management at 586-446-2305.

Biography
Michael C. Taylor was elected to his 1st term on the Sterling Heights City Council in 2009.  In both 2011 and 2013, he was re-elected with the highest number of votes, earning him the position of Mayor Pro Tem. Following the passing of former Mayor Notte, Michael was confirmed as Mayor of Sterling Heights at the December 2, 2014 City Council meeting. He was officially sworn in as Mayor at the December 16, 2014 City Council Meeting.

A lifelong resident of Macomb County, Michael and his wife of seven years, Christina, moved to Sterling Heights after he graduated from the Wayne State University Law School. Prior to earning his law degree, Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kalamazoo College, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. While at Kalamazoo College, he studied as a foreign exchange student in Oaxaca, Mexico. He is also a graduate of Lutheran High School North in Macomb Township.

Michael is Partner at the law firm of Davis Burket Savage Listman Taylor, in Mt. Clemens, where he represents both individuals and businesses on a wide range of civil matters, focusing on civil litigation, corporate law, estate planning, and property tax appeals. Michael was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 2008 and is a member of the Public Corporation Law section of the State Bar.

In 2013, Michael was elected as the presiding officer of the Millennial Mayor’s Congress, a regional body of elected officials and millennial aged residents working to bring about regional change through local action. He has served as the Sterling Heights elected representative on the Congress since his election to council in 2009.

Michael and Christina are the proud parents of 5-year old, Clara Rose, 3-year-old Hudson Michael and Theodore Francis who was born August 9, 2015.
