If this has happened to you, head to the library’s programming center for a special class that will show you how to whip your computer into shape! This in-depth presentation will walk you through the necessary steps for improving the speed, efficiency, and security of your computer. This class is primarily designed for desktop and laptop users with Windows. Some of the solutions still work for Macs, phones, and tablets.

    Do you have a phone, tablet, or computer that you have trouble using? If so, sign up for 30-minute sessions of one-on-one help with whatever device you own. This program is open-ended. You bring the questions, we supply the answers! The questions can be as basic as using email on your phone to as complex as creating formulas in Microsoft Excel. Registration for this program follows special rules. Registration for all the sessions in a series will begin two weeks before the first session. You may only sign up for one 30-minute session per series. Please see the schedule for exact dates. Registration begins Oct. 24 for these sessions: Thursday, Nov. 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

    Join us as Ron Sandison, an author and theologian with autism, discusses his nationally published book Thought, Choice, Action. This latest title formulates a theology of autism, neurodiversity, and disabilities through the lens of St. Augustine of Hippo. Sandison examines several of St. Augustine’s writings and develops an inclusive and empowering response that helps individuals with autism and other disabilities to grow in life and faith.

The coalition’s goal is to empower the youth and adults residing in Sterling Heights to reduce the use of drugs and alcohol.
