    Do you have a phone, tablet, or computer that you have trouble using? If so, sign up for 30-minute sessions of one-on-one help with whatever device you own. This program is open-ended. You bring the questions, we supply the answers! The questions can be as basic as using email on your phone to as complex as creating formulas in Microsoft Excel. Registration for this program follows special rules. Registration for all the sessions in a series will begin two weeks before the first session. You may only sign up for one 30-minute session per series. Please see the schedule for exact dates. Registration begins Apr. 25 for these sessions: Thursday, May 9 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 13 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

  7. Diabetes Prevention Program

    Registration is required and must go through Beaumont Health. Go to Beaumont.org/classes-events or call (800) 633-7377. The library is teaming up with Beaumont Health to bring you the Diabetes Prevention Program, a research-based approach to preventing Type 2 diabetes. The program focuses on lifestyle changes related to healthy eating, physical activity, problem solving, and coping skills. The Diabetes Prevention Program has been proven to be twice as effective as medication alone at preventing Type 2 diabetes. Join us for weekly sessions throughout the summer followed by monthly maintenance sessions in the fall.
