  5. Diabetes Prevention Program

    Registration is required and must go through Beaumont Health. Go to Beaumont.org/classes-events or call (800) 633-7377. The library is teaming up with Beaumont Health to bring you the Diabetes Prevention Program, a research-based approach to preventing Type 2 diabetes. The program focuses on lifestyle changes related to healthy eating, physical activity, problem solving, and coping skills. The Diabetes Prevention Program has been proven to be twice as effective as medication alone at preventing Type 2 diabetes. Join us for weekly sessions throughout the summer followed by monthly maintenance sessions in the fall.

    The Nature Center is keeping its doors open a little later, please stop by between 3 pm and 7 pm to visit with us, look around the display room and partake in a special nature related craft. This is a great opportunity for those who work during the day to connect with nature and sharpen your creative senses. We look forward to your visit!
