Upton House Tour

The Sterling Heights Historical Commission is happy to provide our residents a gateway to the past! Up to four people from the same household can register for a 30-minute self-guided tour of the Upton House Museum. Registrants can connect with Sterling Heights’ past with photos, displays, and more! The full tour requires stairs; second floor is not wheelchair accessible.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

Want to find a fun way to earn volunteer service hours? Look no further than the library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB)! Members of the TAB plan and run their OWN programs under the supervision of our Teen Librarian. The TAB will get a budget and plan out the TBD Teen Event.

Maker Space Open Lab

Sterling Heights cardholders can sign up to use the Maker Space. Use our equipment to make your vision come to life! It features a 3D printer, Cricut laser cutter, sewing machine, and computer with the Adobe Creative Suite software. This is open to all ages, however, those under age 12 will need a parent or guardian with them. We ask that both child and guardian register. Both can be registered under the guardian's library card number. Walk-ins will be taken if the room is not at capacity and the desired equipment is free.

Discovery Archery (Ages 8+)

Discover Archery is a class designed for the new or beginner archer and is a great way to experience target shooting. We will work on range rules, safety, whistle commands, the basics of shooting, have range time and play friendly competition games. For ages 8 + Please register by clicking the Online Registration link.

Archery Development (Ages 8+)

Archery Development is for participants that have completed Discover Archery classes and will allow archers the opportunity to learn USA Archery NTS techniques, (like US Olympic athletes), which will help to perfect the skill obtained in the discover class, through instruction and games. In Real Life (Ages 18 to 30 Years)

In Real Life (IRL) is designed for individuals that have a cognitive impairment with neurodiversity. This is an opportunity to meet new friends and hang out with others who understand you "in real life". Play games that are created to encourage appropriate social skills, learn ways to deal with transitioning from teen years to young adult. Work on the skills needed to make personal connections and develop valued relationships both in the group and elsewhere in life. If you have a developmental disability, these years can be even harder and leave you feeling anxious, alone and unsure. Supported by a recreation therapist, this friendship group will keep you connected and give your social life a mid-week boost! This program meets every Wednesday night from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Sterling Heights Community Center. Please register by clicking the Online Registration link.
